Work

I currently work as a consultant at Tchibo, focusing on retail topics around ESG / CSRD reporting, the digitalisation of product data, and the design of reporting pipelines.

Since starting this role in September 2024, I've been settling into a very different professional shape than before. My work today is less about hands-on building and more about program management, coordination, and organisational work - especially the non-technical kind. That shift has been challenging, but also interesting in new ways.

Right now, I'm mostly focused on getting better at structuring work across teams, aligning stakeholders, and making progress visible without being the person actually implementing anything.

Side projects

Outside of work, I'm actively building a personal data tracking system. It aggregates and explores things like:

The last three are experiments I started in 2026, mostly out of curiosity rather than utility.
This was coupled with me getting a new iPhone 17, which has an action button, which now triggers a shortcut folder, which can be used to quickly track this data.

The tracking platform scratches two itches at the same time: tracking my quantified self and still writing code (even though Claude is helping a lot with this).

Life

Most of my time outside work revolves around sports. I'm running and rowing regularly, and while I pause cycling during winter, I'm already looking forward to getting back on the bike in spring.
You can read more about my last year in sports here.

A fixed point in my week is Saturday runs with mates and miles (matesandmiles.com).

At the end of January 2026, I spent a week skiing in Schladming, Austria, which was a great reset with over 150km of skiing in 5 days on the mountains.

Location

I live in Hamburg, in Uhlenhorst, and have been there for a few years now. The location still feels right.

My environment matters to me more than it used to. I enjoy being in the office three days a week - mainly for the informal conversations, good lunches, and the simple benefit of changing scenery.

Outlook

I'm not optimizing heavily for anything specific at the moment. The main intention for the coming months is simple: having a fun summer in Hamburg, staying active, and keeping enough slack in my schedule to enjoy it.
